We did it! Mission complete. Our task was to set 3 goals and overcome, and overcome we did.
Setting out on Friday we expected a chilly weekend, but thanks to ample firewood and a wonderful location we managed to survive what the Cederburg could throw at us. Warm Potjiekos and pap also helped! The 3 tasks were set on Friday night, expedition style, using SMART goals we chose Waterfall Hike, Lots Wife and The Stadsdaal and Cavemans Paintings. Thanks to the Highlands House group for coming along and being such an amazing group to work with. Also thanks to Pierre for making the long journey from Struisbaai. The weekend was full of great shares, meetings and even a yoga session on the mountain. Well done all for such a great attitude and loads of fun.

I hope that the beauty of the Cedarberg, and the feeling of connectedness with others, will continue to nourish my soul. The weekend is an iconic milestone for me; it helped me reflect on how far I've moved away from the darkness since my sobriety date (5 March 2018). 96 days of learning; and pain, but the pain required to change and grow is a good pain. You know what I mean. Beans Bus thank you for arranging - it was probably the best weekend I've had in recovery, maybe even in years...and I didn't even have my own bed! 😁😀
