The ties that bind, with family in mind, headed to Montagu, to chill and unwind. Family, Friends and fun. So many ways to try to describe this last weekend. From the moment we arrived it was clear that it was going be a special one. De Bos guest farm was indeed a great choice to host our first ever TTB (Ties That Bind) trip. Bringing together a group of us from around the world to enjoy what only a life in recovery has delivered, harmony, serenity and respect. Sleeping all together in a big barn was lots of fun, and we were very lucky to have a couple of welcome visitors around for the weekend. From Ginger bums to Old Mac Jack (The little Jack Russel that looked like he pushing 100yrs at least) to some crazy eyed, ball chasing, paw pushing Border Collie, an animal farm it was. The mountains of Montagu surrounded us in there splendour, sightseeing galore and sunrise well worth getting up for, thanks to the double alarms of the Rooster and Donkeys! Hiking through to make our way to the springs was well worth it, felt like we arrived at an Oasis when we got there, and everyone in one way or another seemed to find something special in those waters. We were very lucky to have the full spectrum of what could be considered family on this trip. Tanya and Meezy: Tanya your power share was incredible, touched us all and was great to have Meezy on this trip. Truly incredible to share in your journey and have you help me in mine. Also well done Meezy on making the double hike, you did very well. Meezy Bos Bread on the menu! Uncle Jason, Nathanial and Ethan: Jason, thank you for bringing such a great couple of guys with. They kept you on your toes and provided for many a highlight on the trip. Thomas and Yolanda: Thomas, your share on Friday touched us all. The relationship between your mom and you is an inspiration to all of us who witnessed it. Jo and Boys: Glad you managed to make it on Saturday, well done on 5 o’clock departure! Your boys looked like they had plenty of fun, they did very well on the hike and even took the lead on the way back! Martijn: Hope this trip gave you a taste of what you have come so far to find. Enjoyed the chats with you and so did others. Moving moments of Montagu for you and us too. Aunty Liz: When you arrived you were full of sniffles and gripes, when you left was chuckles and early morning hikes! Sam: Pushing through some early morning challenges you made it! What a pleasure to have you on this very special trip. Hope to have you on many more. Rick and Alex: Well done guys, you make the moments a pleasure. From all of us at Beans a big thank you to De Bos and Montague for giving us such a good time. Till the next one!
